Rebuilding Together Saratoga County is a safe and healthy housing organization that utilizes skilled and general volunteers to provide home repairs for qualified Saratoga County homeowners who are older adults, persons living with a disability, low-income families and veterans who cannot pay for the needed repairs and meet our income requirements. Please realize that we are unable to help all homeowners who apply and there is no guarantee of service by applying to Rebuilding Together Saratoga County. Almost all labor is volunteered by skilled trade people and general volunteers. We do require that all able-bodied homeowners and family members assist with the needed repairs.
•The property must be owner-occupied and be the primary residence.
•If the homeowner is collecting some rental income for a portion of the home, this may be acceptable.
•Rental income must be considered as income and evidence must provided as part of the documentation requirements.
•The household income must meet HUD’s guidelines for low-income. Most of the homeowners we serve are at or below 50% of the Area Median Income, but we can serve incomes above this depending on the funding resources available.
•The homeowner must be an older adult, a person living with disabilities, a veteran or a parent/guardian with child(ren) 18 or under living in the home.
•The homeowner is not able to complete the necessary repairs/modifications due to cost or physical constraints.
In order for Rebuilding Together Saratoga County to determine eligibility, an applicant must complete the Homeowner Application and provide documentation that indicates:
•Proof of ownership via up-to-date, paid Property Tax Bill or Lot Rent Receipt.
•Current income, including total household income of all persons living in the home.
•Most recent 30 days of pay stubs (if applicable) for all persons living in the home.
•Most recent filed tax return for all persons living in the home.
•A copy of your bank statement displaying public assistance, if applicable.
Once your application is submitted, you will be notified by mail about the status of your application. Please understand that it may take some time to hear back from us.
We require a third-party referral source be included in your application. This reference is someone who can be contacted in the event we are unable to reach the homeowner. Your application will not be complete without a referral source, proof of your household income and proof of homeownership. Incomplete applications will be returned.
